hi, these are final renders of a project I was working for quite a time
I wonder if I had let them cook more if they would be more realistic....but it takes too long 0.49Ms/sec so I had to use neatimage to reducs noise! (they had reached 6500 samples)
any observations, comments and advice are most welcome :)

and these two were made after reducing scale and some post pro

yeah, you destroy images by reducing noise . . . they look to me like you stoped rendering in the middle of work...this is simply not fnished

I think that reallity is that if you want to make quality interior renders in octane and any other GPU render
you need at least 1000 CUDA cores.

Unbiased renders sucks cos they r never finished (i mean interiors)
and problem is very slow cleaning....
What was rendering time ???

you should left it cook much more .... results would be much better

and your interior is full of light so it cleans faster then interiors without that much light...

im starting to think when optimization of Octane is finished...how much these scene will render faster ???

if you use HDRI, use blured one cos its cleans faster....

**** In my tests --- its much better to render bigger size of image and then resize it ! for same abount of time u will get better pic and which is more important...with much less NOISE !
Time is only relevant...do quick test...render one image 1024x1024 for 5 minuntes and 4048x4048 fro 5 minutes and scale it down
i can bet that scaled image wins !

the render time was at about 4 hours(if I remember well)
I will post a new one and try to reach at least 16000 samples to see the result...
thank you for comments and advice :)

P.S. is it better to reach 16000 samples original size,or 4000 samples doublesized and reduced to original in post pro? better quality? faster time?

no I used sun enviroment, and the full of light scene was accomplished with some post pro.....from past experience with these scene it never cleans completely(24000samples), I agree with you

maybe octane team has a hidden ace! we have to wait and see!
and unfortunately I haven't tried the pmc ......(i can not change my drivers this period of time due to works in progress.... :( )

Hi joseph,

I love the colors of your render. Especially the second picture is good. They look like done by a very sensitive girl ;)

As for the noise. Render this images in 2 or 4 times biger resolution. Do noise reduction in PS, and downscale to oryginal MPix.

Can you show me a lightnig setup from your 3D program?

ok, the colors of my render are done by a sensitive guy who likes warm and calm places... ;)
thank you for the noise reduction tip :)
I model in archicad, transfer to rhino for modeling details and then render with octane(which I like a lot!).the only light in the scene is the octane sun and the IES on the ceiling. any suggestions about light setup?

a quick 10 minuites test PT comparsion
512x512
2048x2048 scaled to 512x512
4096x4096 scaled to 512x512
quick_resize_comp.jpg
Detais are best at 4096x4096 and in 20 min it would take a solid lead !
scene is very simple too
but judge by yourself :)

i dont know why 512x512 looks like it out of fokus

I will made one now with max resoultion, just a ten minutes plz :)
512 x 512 VS 6000 x 6000, 10 minutes, PT

i see that the higher the resolution the better the quality...(the floor is obviously better)
I just finished the number 2 rendered for 6:17 hours reached 4000samples at 2048x1300 downscaled to 1024x650.....I will post it in5'
about the out of focus thing, are you sure that hotpixels removal filter has the same settings for all images?

maybe it has to do with the reduction settings you used in PS

P.S. thank you necko77 and familyguy for your useful advices :D
