Hello everyone,

I'm having a bit of an issue with a render of a diamond. Here's what it looks like :

As you can see there's quite a bit of noise in the diamond. I've attached my render settings as well, maybe someone can give me an input?
Thanks !

PS: i tried with GI clamp=2. and it yielded the same results.

Hi jbkrauss,
if you enable the dispersion in specular materials, 1200 sampling are not enough.
Note that reducing the GI Clamp value you are also cutting all the caustics effects.
My suggestion is to increase a lot the max sampling, and enable the Adaptive sampling option, or, even better, switch to PMC kernel for this kind of scenes.

hello bepeg4d,
here is another album of the same render, in pathtracing @2000 samples. I was tweaking things around, and when I changed the sun size of my octanedaylight the noise disappeared.
I changed the sunsize from 20 to 1 (default I believe). Maybe I was overexposing stuff?
