Well I wanted to share with all the new render of my contest scene now done with the 2.44, it was one of the shots planned, but due to a bug on 2.43 the result came all weird, now thanks to the latest update (and abstrax finding that damm code line causing the banding) I've been able to render it as planned.

Also lately I've been having fun learning to use sketchup. I find fantastic the ability to easily reconstruct an existing building from a photo. I've found that it's a great soft for archviz and quite powerful. So here are two different projects, a relative's livingroom and an existing building I'm currently working on. For both of them I did an oclussion pass, and I have to say that I loved the effect.
Hope you like them.
The living room was a 2 days work, including rendering and post-pro. One of the great things of SU is the whole lot of objets ready to insert in your scene. And having octane as renderer nothing ever looks bad ;)

And here is the fake oclussion shot

This was my first SU project, and it took me longer, cause I was trying to get the workflow right. I had some trouble with the glass normals, but after some trial and error everything worked fine.

I had to do a night shot, somehow Octane always makes them look great with no help at all

And the fake oclussion again, just by its own is a nice render too (or at least I like it ;) )

Nice render as usual! Yeah I've have to agree with you with Sketchup, it totally streamlined archviz for me. The good news is that there is an independent plugin being developed for organic modelling. I think it's something in the line like Z-brush but easier to use.

thank you all, I really appreciate it.
And a z-brush for sketchup would be awesome, that and a little more control over uvmaps would be the only things I'm missing on that app, it's really straight foward for archviz and easy to learn. Add a cool and fast renderer as Octane, and you got a whole archviz pipeline with one man and one computer!

well the "interiors" are just some intersecting planes and a light fixture (well just a box) in which I used a ramdomizer material assigment so I could have 4 different light levels, so in a way it is a shortcut  .
Thanks.
