I am trying to get a very basic scene with xparticles and octane and cannot get it to work at all? I have read all the previous entries and I can't get them to work either. They don't show in my live viewer at all. I am running R17 and installed latest 2.25 R3 plugin with a demo version of xparticles. Interestingly when I updated the octane plugin it would only except the c4dOctane-R16.cdl64 plugin version and not the 17 version? My graphics cards are up to date running 2 Titans and the computer is only 4 months old so I don't imagine its my spec as it's a beast.

I have uploaded a scene file and would appreciate anyone giving me a heads up on just setting up a very basic octane xparticle scene with maybe a tracer and a sphere or object attached to the particle. Really keen to get working with xparticles but it feels really buggy or I am just missing the plot with it :) As I said I have looked at lots of tutorials and read Aokters comments on the object tag but no joy whatsoever.

PLEASE HELP ME. My everydays are suffering because of it :)

I get the following error from Octane when I add the object tag and enable the particles to the emitter? I am just adding a simple diffuse material to the emitter object.

So that was an expensive day!!!!! Don't see the point of the demo not working as how are you going to be able to try it????

Needless to say that @aoktar was right so let the fun carry on. You do need a full license to use it with the latest release of the C4D octane plugin.

You don't need commercial version to work with standart geometry ways on XP. But XP SDK is disabled on Demo versions and you need that for direct access to datas of XP.

It would have been less expensive if you read the terms of use for the do demo :)
