Is it possible to use Amazon services to render out scenes coming out from LW? Or I'm getting something wrong with all the cloud hype?
Any thoughts?

But how can that in theory even work ? My scenes are approx. 3 GB in size. So when I hit render the scene must first be transfered to the cloud, with my 100KB/s upload speed this will take almost 10 hours, never mind, I can wait, great, now I have it in the cloud and can do whatever, but then I need to add another model and reload the scene, do I wait another 10 hours or what ?
As much as I would like to use cloud rendering it is not possible for me and it won't be possible for years ahaed until I get fibre to my secluded far away village.

If I have understood correct, in the future your apps are ran via Otoys x.io in the cloud. You can then access the program and project with a cell phone if you wish and do your work. So you build up the scene from scratch in the cloud and all the renderings and render times becomes "moot", since this system is fully armed and operational battle station 
When the app is in the cloud, I assume all you send back and forth in editing are just simple metadata and commands that doesn´t reguire huge bandwith. Sending assets, textures, objects and stuff ofcourse reguires some, but not much.
When Brigade 3.0 comes, it is based on cloud render and x.io..

None of my client work is going into the cloud, ever. I have way to much to loose if there is a security breach. It seems most cloud app providers will limit their liability due to a breach, which speaks volumes!! If I need help, then garage farm have been awesome in the past and now have GPU services.

Seems to me that security is at the root with x.io..
It is intended primarily to software developers, to send their awesome program to be ran in the cloud and their customers can use it where ever, so, the question about security is right there at the core.
I personally can´t wait to start render with this. 0,05$ per minute, and one minute is a long time in that superior firepower environment..
But yeah, I understand the absolute need for security, if I were to make an animation to, lets say, Apple for their upcoming top secret gadget, one stolen frame could make a one big mess..
But, the consept of x.io to me is right there where the future is. Things will go there, for one reason: superior firepower and that is what all this cool stuff needs. For example a whole city in VR environment, path traced in real time. That is what Zuckerberg probably had in his mind, when he invested two billion dollars to Oculus VR.. I mean, with that kind of money, you should be able to get to moon and back.
