Just a dump question  I wondered for a while now and can't see a difference if I change the values.

I put a IES or OCtane Light in 3dmax and there is a sample box with defaults to 1. What is the effect? I set it to crazy values but see no difference (PMC,PT)??

It work with several light sourses. Some times some light sources are far from the camera and some are close. And you don't want octane to spend to many samples for away sources.
