hi, as soon as i have seen the new caustics blur effect showed by karba i have thought that my rocks must be recalculated, so here is the result ;)
this is my first pmc animation, 10 minutes x frame with voxelization at 3000 samples with physical sky.

i think it looks great, too, if not even more realistic....!

underwater there is a strange little vortex in the middle :shock:
could it be the conjunction of sss and pmc :?:
i need to do more tests with a less complex scene and higher sampling :roll:

Yes, I did a shot with heavy atmosphere using sss nearly a year ago now in the first version of Octane that had sss and PMC, although 4 to 5 times faster to converge than PT, gave that strange vortex in the center. I ended up using PT anyway as the low frequency noise in PMC or "splotchiness" as the manual calls it was too obvious in my animation.
