I noticed that the denoiser eats some VRam and some scenes cannot be rendered, will you optimize the Vram usage for denoiser or it will be like that for ever ?
I also noticed some slow down with this version but as said in the post I guess it is not yet optimized.
Thanks

Not simply crashing Octane but by freezing the computer and having the screen go black and the computer remain inoperable.

Testing the scenes again in 3.08 and 3.06.4 causes no ill effects and works as expected. as mentioned in previous post screen update time and render times both are slower by about 50 or more.

I running this on Windows 10 Pro, 64 bit, with a 1070 and 2 series 9 GTX titans. I'm also running with the most up to date Diver version from Nvidia : 391.01

What could be causing this? In this state the software is unusable.... And I really want to try out the Denoiser and AI Lighting

Ok.... Scratch previous statement. After updating to the latest driver, windows crashing seems to be a common occurrence......

So for a related question does any one know why the heck my computer would crash with 391.01 installed?????? Could it be the graphics cards?

These Nvidia drivers version are rubbish, since I update and prior to V4 I had several crashes on scenes that never gave me a single glitch

This is in the release notes, there is a significant amount of profiling and tuning that needs to be done because the characteristics of the kernels have changed. Another thing to keep in mind is that v4's AI Scene caching occurs after no more changes to the scene has happened for around 1 second. Caching is essential for rendering at full speed.

All the AI option were turned off in my video. If I turn AI ON the performance go down to 200% slower than 3.08

You can see a "AI scene: caching mesh 1/2" message in your video. Also, you messed up the test a bit by moving the camera.

From what I see here it looks like it needs less samples to get a clean image so it's easy to jump to conclusions that it's slower based on the MS/sec numbers alone. We need renders from both versions rendered in the same time frame superimposed with a difference blending mode against a super-clean image reference to compare the speed accurately. I'm stuck with a 820m laptop here. I'm afraid it might explode if I try to do this on it. :D

Does my octane license give me an extra node to use for network render with octane render 4?
