Hi

Have you read the plugin manual?
To use object motion blur you have to set movable proxy option.[/quote]

Thanks Karba :D
I really did not know that. I thought movable proxy was for instancing not to use up extra ram

Unusual question. Will we see some kind of option in octane 3 for better reflections at least fake ones if it is possible. Image looks great but reflections always have noise especially when light hits specular material. This is after 4000 samples. Seems like it would take 20000 to remove all reflection noise. hotpixel removal is set to .1 thank you

No there is no magic bullet here. Try increasing caustic blur. If that doesn't help, try reducing GI clamp. If that doesn't help you are probably out of luck and either have to render more samples or use PMC.

Did you try it recently? The video is of version 1.13...

I have not seen so far information about fixing PMС

It's not broken. If you can send us an example, where it doesn't work, we can investigate.

some sort of fake blurry reflection would be awesome. Most of the noise on my renders comes from blurry reflections, which seems bit of a waste of computing power since it just needs to look smooth and not detailed. Could some system be provided where a basic reflection map was calculated from limited samples, post blurred, then re-mapped onto the object?

I know it's not as easy as that, but most of the time blurry reflections don't really need to be that accurate.

I would say that the whole CG industry is going toward more accurate blurry reflections, not less accurate -- ie: micro facet surface models like GGX or GTR, which would in fact be a nice addition to Octane. What might help with blurry reflection speed, if not already in Octane, would be Multiple Importance Sampling.

Hey I'm not saying replace it, because there are times we all need total accuracy, just be amazing to have the option.

If you can somehow collect all the reflected samples cast onto an object, store it in a temporary map/buffer - it can be blurred by a user input and mapped back onto the object, replacing only the reflection properties of the material and overriding the noisy reflection.

As the user above states there are times images need hours of rendering to clear this noise up, it would be a fake but super quick solution to these problems.
