Hello,

I'am a new user with Octane Standalone and the Blender plugin.
I don't understand how to setup the nodes in Blender for IES lights.

The correct result is on the right side (Octane Standalone)

Is IES lights supported in blender plugin?

Thank you MIB.

Not working for me ... i tryed images, movies, patterns ... but cant see it in render!
Also the previews in the nodes doesn´t show anything. Would be good to have a working viewer to control settings.

Hm, strange, did you use unpack in File menu or try own picture.
I test only preview render but should work with F12.
Could another user test this?

Cheers, mib.

ITS WORKING

I didn´t unpack the file.
With unpacking its okay - sorry :D!

Two issues:
1st - now, rendering an animation stops at frame 3 because octance server stops (always the same time). Using the normal sky-background its okay!
2nd - The preview in nodes does not work.

My mistake. It works. A good manual would be nice.

You have done a very nice job with the plugin. The most confusing thing for me is the right way to setup materials.

I have some improvement suggestions.

1. Material export from Octane Standalone version to Blender. The preview system in Standalone is very nice. Blender lacks a good material preview.
2. Viewport color for objects would be nice. (hard to see if the objects are all the same color)
3. A Blend material file for exploring how to setup different material with nodes in Blender.

Me, too!

But help is on the way! JimStar is working on the Materials Live DB (like or similar to StandAlone's)...pretty soon I think. ;)
