One question, would it be possible to add a fast fake fog as a post process aswell?
Using the zdepth buffer multiplied with environment colors and then overlayed like the bloom... or something like that?

I'd like to echo kilaD's request.

Real world fog is fantastic - really is. But I've seen fake volumetrics done in many a renderer which looks almost as good and is only a few seconds hit on render times - rather than the super long render times this would give us. Any chance of this method as an option in the future?

Also you can have camera inside the volume for fog which is a post effect.

Love the way octane is developing, thanks for all the features!

Maybe a fast volumetric fog could be made by being able to scatter only direct light?
