Where can I download hi res baking scene to test ?

Here everything works exactly the same as in version 2 (18 GPUs) , but I didn't test this scene yet.

I don't know the makes of the PCI extensions because I inherited them with the bit coin mining cases I bought. But they are just normal cables ( the ones without the USB cable ) with extra power socket sticking out ( old power white socket with only 1 of the 4 big pins present )

Boris I would like to forward you my red car scene that crashes, with details on how to replicate my settings which make my system freeze. I will send to you and would be interested to see if your replication of the scene has the same effect.

When rendering 3500 pixel wide image I can see different parts of the image refine at different times because of this new tiling mechanism in Octane 3. But the central tile is always much more refined then the surrounding ones and this does not go away if I let it cook longer. You can see the border between two different levels of refinement in the attached image.

Hi all,
I'm not using at moment the 3.0 because the lack of the Max plugin.
I'd like to know how the baking process works.
Please test some samples and copy them on Sketchfab. it's the best site to visualize realtime 3D models using webgl.
I'm curios to see the results.

regards.

Just FYI - So Boris reported back that using network nodes with 1x, that the render worked (did not crash), however the screen was just black, no image. Then he tried his own baking cam scene which worked, which is like me, I have other baking cam scenes which do not crash the PC. So it was surely helpful, although somewhat inconclusive.

Thanks to Boris :)

Mojave, what is the output of the baked mesh, as in what is the file that is created and how is it saved/exported? Is it like that picture of the render passes of the humanoid figure in the outline, as in a PNG file(s)?
Thanks, Notiusweb

The baking system works as a special type of camera, in such a way that you can select the baking camera in your render target. That means that you may export your render output in the same way as you would do with a thin lens or panoramic camera.

In the provided example, you can see the beauty pass and a few render layers (AO, normals, etc.), which can be exported either as PNG or EXR (single or multilayer). It obviously depends on what you need to bake: as a way of example, you could bake all diffuse lighting on your scene using the corresponding pass and use the pre-calculated output on your RT engine.

Cheers.

Sorry if I am bugging again but I got no answer before..

Will we see motion blur for liquids with changing topology? Why can vray, i-ray, etc etc have it and we cannot have it?

How can professionals use Octane if they cannot have motion blur for liquids

Thank you!
