I tried downloading it but failed.
Hi,

What was the issue ? can you describe the error ?

Radiance
The server here won't allow any files unless they're zipped.

Just got near my machine, and got it activated etc.
Downloaded beta2.2, but whole system kept locking with nv4_disp inifinite loop error and BSOD, when rendering has just started. This was with chess test obj, or any others.
Updated nvida drivers to 197.45, no change, reinstalled cuda drivers, and everything else again, kept locking.
Downloaded beta2.1, and tried that and there was no locking up :) . Tried beta2.2 again locks up with same BSOD error message. :?
Hi,

Do the demosuite scenes work ? if not, it's a driver related issue (or hardware), difficult to say...

Hi Radiance
Demo scenes work, i.e. they load and begin rendering in beta 2.2 but within seconds of starting to render there seems to be refresh of the render window and machine locks completely followed by error message of infinite loop.

I have no problems with beta 2.1. - even now - which seems strange as drivers are the same for both.

strange... you're the only user that reported this (that i'm aware of).
can you try to find a way we could reproduce this ?

Regarding the bug with turntable animations, we've decided to fix this and release a small update called beta 2.2b with the issue fixed on wednesday,
so people can render turntable animations for the competition.

When I launch Octane with the Netgear Wireless USB adapter plugged in it hangs after selecting the mesh in the graph editor. When I unplug the adater it runs.
It's not connected to any wifi networks and the only reason I have it plugged in is because my maya license is linked to it's mac adress.

that's one really strange bug report.
clicking on a mesh does not involve any code that has to do with the security system.

Are you sure of this ? can you reproduce it with scenes from the demosuite ?

Ok.. My bad. It was a combination of things I tried to resolve the issue. The adapter most likely wasn't the guilty one. Had some groups in my obj that probably messed up.

radiance, may be late for 2.2b, but now that I'm doing renders of an animation in background, I noticed that at least in linux, when you start the rendering of each frame, the dialogs to load textures, geometry, etc. .. put in the foreground and not only that, while they are displayed, if I try to change virtual desktops, these force me to return, which sometimes can be very annoying.

I have also noticed a strange effect (although I have not tried many times to confirm that always happens), but if when octane start rendering a frame, minimize his window, it loads everything, but does not start the render until I restore the window.

That said, just if you could adjust the window type of dialogue because need to render many hours and I have to do other things with the machine and this "annoying" a little.

Cheers

Currently when I increase the resolution of my render I get a pop-up with an error message telling me to reduce the scene complexity. I would be very wel be willing to do that but as soon as I click it it comes back again. Since the rest of the app is non-responsive while the alert is there the only thing I can do is kill Octane and start over. Would it be possible to stop the render when the scene get's to heavy for my GPU? That way I would atleast be able to adjust it or save my work.
