You will need an Internet connection everytime you launch a new version for the first time.

Additional problem:

If i start octane from blender and close it again then i get a lot of zombie processes in ubuntu. Additional octane is not displayed in panel of ubuntu 11.04. Third if i start octane render, the gui is evertime wrong: the right window is large sized and all other windows are shifted to the left size. I cannot set preferences to set the proper windows because the preference has no effect on this.

Cheers, Stephan.

two thinks : alpha channel ? will that get fixed soon ?
pmc kernel ? will the pmc kernel be optimized in beta 2.49 ?

cheers
Rico
Regarding the alpha channel: What exactly is the problem?

Regarding the PMC kernel: There will be very likely no speed improvements in beta 2.49 in the PMC kernel, but we will see.

Cheers,
Marcus

When Octane is launched, there should be only one process and when you close Octane it should be gone. Could you please exactly describe what you experience?

Regarding the GUI: You very likely have stored a default scene (File -> Save as default) that has this layout. Either delete the default scene or change the layout and then call File -> Save as default.

Marcus

Sorry, but I don't understand the question. Could you please try to rephrase the problem?

Thanks,
Marcus

Is the NVIDIA 9800 GX2 your display card and are you using it for rendering? I reckon it's too slow and blocks the whole system, while rendering.

I get zombie processes if i start octane form blender by using plugin and then close octane render. You will get a zombie.
The GUI: it is not possible for me to save the current gui by using "File -> Save as default." After restarting octane the window settings is the old one.

Cheers, Stephan.

But at the moment i get the problem that the mesh is not properly displayed in octane: the exported cube has one wrong edge displayed. I don't know why. How can i solve the problem?
This problem is the most important problem for me: i cannot import i simple cube to octance from blender. The cube is wrong rendered in octane (the geometry is wrong!). If i try to import a simple UV-Sphere, then octane crashes with error message as follows: "ERROR: Program executed illegal instruction.. terminating."

There has to be a problem in my installation, but i cannot solve the problem. Could you give me a hint what could it be?

Greatings, Stephan.

The problem with the Apha channel is it makes the whole scene a little bit opaque.
