Any comment from OTOY Team to all this disappointment?
What about that "Which features do you need most?" thread?
Does it have anything to do with this "Release Candidate" or are these plans for V2.0?
Please let us know...

Agree, everyone is a little bit sad that it won't be any new feature for a while, but this is getting out of hands, calm down guys! :?

There are plenty of new features in 1.5, just not the ones you want.

You need to look at new features through the Otoy lens of importance.
Gaming
Cloud
Real-time FPS
Instancing
Holodeck

Personally, I think this is a good thing.

OTOY
From Wikipedia
OTOY is a Los Angeles-based cloud rendering company,[1] OTOY's aim is to deliver real-time, cinema-quality 3D graphics to filmmakers, 3D designers, animators, game developers, and end users by using the rendering power of the cloud, consisting of clusters of multiple GPUs, and streaming it to the client through a web browser.

Woah - Holodeck!?? now we're talking! :D

just out of interest: what's the difference between live renderings for augmented reality applications & a holodeck?

Hm .. I wonder what it is suppsoed to be in the end ... a game engine for cutscne adventures? Or an FPS/Spacesim etc gameengine ... there's a lot of those and I guess things like cryengine etc are the current benchmark and atm can easily kill even very high end rigs ... and this otoy engine is rendering even closer .. I can0t imagine many FPS with that atm with dozens of million polygon spaceships around :)
