The new Live DB looks very nice. Can't wait to actually use it. :-)

ps. same meshes loaded fine in 2.47

cheers,

EDIT:

just saw this note on the front page: 'Initial display of render viewport on Macs doesn't get refreshed until its forced to redraw. We are investigating...'

missed this apparently. looking forward to an update on this issue.
Please install the CUDA toolkit 4.0 and the CUDA driver 4.0.19. You can find a link to both in the first post of this thread. Also make sure that you have the latest Mac OS 10.6 installed (should be 10.6.8 as far as I know). When all of that is done, please do a reboot. After that it should work. Let us know if not.

Cheers,
Marcus

Hi,

i installed cuda 4.0 and this new octane render. If i open the preferences of octane, then octane say cuda version 0.0.0. I think that means that the cuda driver was not found. Therefore rendering is not started. Cuda is set in PATH and LD_LIBRARY_PATH. My nvidia driver is 270.41.06. This driver should support cuda 4.0.

What could be the problem that octane will not find cuda 4.0?

Greatings...
ubuntu 11.04, cuda 4.0, octane v1 2.48c, exporter from Lionel 1.1.0, blender 2.58, nvidia Geforce GTX 285, graphic driver 275.21

We used the NVIDIA graphics driver 270.41.19 and that should run fine. Please let us know, if not.

The next release will be a beta 2.49. It will again be a test release with the new offline mode plus some additional bits and bobs. We want to release the offline mode first as a test release to make sure that everything work fine when we put the beta 2.5 on the commercial relase forum.

With the new graphic driver it works.
I can recomment this link to install cuda 4.0 and the new graphic driver on ubuntu 11.04: http://hdfpga.blogspot.com/2011/05/inst ... -1104.html

But at the moment i get the problem that the mesh is not properly displayed in octane: the exported cube has one wrong edge displayed. I don't know why. How can i solve the problem?

Cheers, Stephan.
