thanks for quick reply. Wow, new version features sound fantastic. I want it :-)
Regarding network render we are using master machine Mac Pro with OS X and GTX 980 (Latest Plugin and Octane 2.23.1) and slave machine is Windows 7 with 4 x GTX titan Black (latest Plugin and Octane 2.23.1).
We always work on Mac Pro and have Windows machine in BG as render slave, but never had this error before. Not sure what changed and why it happened all of the sudden. I read the other thread with the same error before, but we did not have it then, it just occurred now.
Regarding gamma shift when Layer mask is enabled, it actually seems to happen on every project. So if you just take cube and plane and enable cube as layer 2 and then render that out with layer mask enabled, the first frame has correct gamma and every frame after that drops gamma.

Hi Aoktar,

I still get the problem with applying a color shader (or multi shader) in the emission channel of the octane material. Same problem as I pointed out in the previous release's forum thread. Cinema4D completely freezes and I need to reboot to actually completely quit C4D, force quit removes it from the open Applications but the interface is still visible and won't go . Any idea what this could be ?

Running r16, latest version + update on OSX, latest CUDA, and version 2.23.1 of the plugin.

Just tried it with a file from scratch. I made a cube, put it in a cloner, added an Octane shader, added Texture Emission in the Emission channel. Put the multi shader in there. Applied the material to the cloner. Added a random effector for the cloner. As soon as I turn on the color mode of the random effector, C4D completely freezes.

Pity you don't have a space navigator. They are cheap and everyone I know that uses c4d has one as it is built into the program. Is there anything we can do to help test it before you release updates.
I use c4d for vfx and as a filmmaker its great to be able to fly the camera round and visualise camera moves in the live viewer.

Hey Ahmet,

sure no problem. Here is a very simple scene we made, just to show the render behavior.

It also includes the first 3 frames rendered, so you can see what our renders look like. If you just hit render on this scene you will see that the first frame is in the correct gamma and all following frames drop gamma.

By the way, funny enough we rendered this via network and the renders don't have the corrupted first frame. Maybe it is just the one scene file that has the network render problem, not sure yet.

Found the source of problem. A workaround is that to enable camera imager in camera tag. I'll look for a fix.

Hey Ahmet,

awesome. thanks so much for the quick fix. We will try this later today - that would be an easy fix.

Also, we tried to figure out the problem with network rendering once again and funny enough if you start a render, let it render the first corrupted frame, then stop the render and not work on anything again, but just start the same exact render again, it renders the first frame correctly. Not sure why, but that seems to fix the corrupted first render frame issue.

we can't crash it on same way. Maybe a c4d version problem.

I did some more testing today.

It seems like a version problem indeed.
It does work in R15 (15.008), doesn't work in R16 (both 16.0720 and 16.050).

What version of C4D are you using?

16.038. is it available 16.0720? I can't see this.
