Regarding network render we are using master machine Mac Pro with OS X and GTX 980 (Latest Plugin and Octane 2.23.1) and slave machine is Windows 7 with 4 x GTX titan Black (latest Plugin and Octane 2.23.1).
We always work on Mac Pro and have Windows machine in BG as render slave, but never had this error before. Not sure what changed and why it happened all of the sudden. I read the other thread with the same error before, but we did not have it then, it just occurred now.
Regarding gamma shift when Layer mask is enabled, it actually seems to happen on every project. So if you just take cube and plane and enable cube as layer 2 and then render that out with layer mask enabled, the first frame has correct gamma and every frame after that drops gamma.
