Hey Aoktar,
Yes I did that. I unzipped the install file and copied the entire “c4doctane” folder into Cinema4D’s plugins folder, then removed the other versions of the plugin apart from R18. I’ve done that a couple of times now, yet the error persists.
Version 3.08.3 (obsolete stable)

Maybe revert ui to standard c4d and then remake urs with live viewer? Also delete cinema4d.pref file to reset it? Its in the prefs folder somewhere.

Hey thanulee,
Thanks for the suggestion. I tried all of that in all kinds of combinations, but it doesn't change the outcome.
Quite literally it seems like Cinema 4D doesn't load the 3.08.3 plugin properly. I quickly tried it with 3.08.2-R3 and it worked like a charm. So, given that everybody else's 3.08.3 plugin seems to work fine (and that they are not on R18), there should be something wrong with the "c4dOctane-R18.cdl64" file for version 3.08.3.
The biggest giveaway is - as I said - that the Octane menu entry in Cinema 4D's top bar is empty. Have a look at the screenshot below:
So even though Cinema recognises some of the Octane plugin, it doesn't load it properly, otherwise all the options would be there.
Aoktar, could you please look into this? That'd be much appreciated.

Oh this is odd. I had it installed on R18 and didnt have this. Sorry idk what else might be.
Plugin seems like is not loaded. Check Res and libs300 directories if they have all files from package. And check there is not any older octane DLLs in other search paths, like under C4D user directory and installation directory.Ferdinand13 wrote:Hey Aoktar,

Hi Aoktar and Thanulee,
The problem is solved! For some reason half the files in the "res" folder were missing. I unpacked the .rar file a number of times and every time it failed to generate the other half in the "res" folder. However, I did it again now, using a slightly different process and suddenly the folder comes in as it's supposed to be. Weird
But thanks so much for pointing me into the right direction Aoktar and for your support as well Thanulee.
