Just to add a bit to Azen's update: Like the other Octane Render plugins, we are dependent on the Octane SDK, which is currently going through a series of major changes that have led to an unusually long gap between stable releases. As a result, many of the plugins built around the SDK have necessarily gone through a similar pause while we adapt the plugins to the SDK changes and await a stable build. We're taking advantage of this time to continue work on the plugins. (On top of this, we also need to adapt the SketchUp plugin to some significant changes in the Microsoft and Apple development tools.)
One of the most important changes I've been making recently is the introduction of two-way feedback between the SketchUp and Octane views of a scene. The first example of this is the lighting environment: when you change the lighting settings on one side, this will now be reflected on the other; for example, you can change the map location in Octane's environment settings, and both the Octane and SU views will change their sunlight direction and colour to match. Synchronisation of other details will follow; the same underlying mechanism will allow automatic conversion of materials with some more work (although this will necessarily be limited by some fundamental incompatibilities between the SU and Octane material models).
Other improvements waiting in the wings, in addition to general bug fixing, include better compatibility between save files from different versions of the plugin (at the moment there are issues with transferring files between Windows and Mac), and more reliable picking of material and other objects. I'm also investigating the issues you have reported with Skatter and proxy objects.
Octane Render for SketchUp 3.06.4.10 Stable Beta Release
Hello Azen and Cap.
I'm sorry I just don't belive in your words anymore.
I don't have time or I would copy paste all of your posts from last 2 years and you will see the same excuse every time.
Is just wrong......

The upcoming 3.07 version of the plugin is currently in testing. There has been a lot of back-end work required to resolve some of the long-standing known issues, which our ongoing progress has enabled us to improve upon.
it's a shame! does it seem possible that in all this time you have failed to make OCTANE stable? It is possible that each release is always under test !? We're leaving you! We bought it to work, not to make the nerd to the one who finds more mistakes! Awake! Change Programmers.
Hi ArchMP,
please, a bit more of patience.
Captain is doing a great job and solving all the core issues, unfortunately this is happening during an heavy renew of Octane SDK 3.07/3.08, but the missing aspect here is that there is not another plugin like Octane out there. Captain has to solve issues never solved before, so a bit more time is needed, compared with a plugin based on CPU. Screaming does not help to solve the programming issues. We all love Sketchup and Octane here, and we are working hard to offer you a more stable version as soon as possible. Thankfully I’m sure that all of you will be happy with the final result.
Happy Rendering,
ciao beppe

beppe is right - it's high time we stop complaining all the time that SU plugin is behind - yes it is - but at least we've been given a good sign that SU is being under development. Hope Azen and Captain will give us something good soon. Just please guys inform us more often what you are working on.
My recommendation for now - use Standalone and wait patiently for good stable version of the plugin.

I'm unable to get this version running at all. The install completes, but SketchUp Make 2017 crashes before I can do anything.
I'm running the latest versions of SketchUp and Octane (both downloaded in the last two days).
I'm also running a fully updated Windows 10 with nVidia's latest drivers.
Let me know what other information I can provide.
Thanks,
tim

Hi all,
We are currently running tests on the 3.07 build. Highlights of this version include - resolving the issue of Octane Geometry loading on start-up (which was causing grave issues for people opening large scenes), material picker and Live DB materials are stable, among other fixes. We are testing between the Mac OSX and Windows build. We are aiming to gain approval for release of this build as soon as possible.

Will all the features from 3.04.4.5 be active again? For example sketchup sun/date settings that was deatived in last version?
