Will Octane 2 support C4D's terrain shader ?
Thanks!

Random color belong to 2.0. But, particles will be available in both.momade wrote: hey aoktar.
did i understand right? random color node is already available in 1.53? or are particles supported in 1.53 as shown in the video?

Hi-Weezer wrote:Fuse animation http://www.fuseanimation.com use it - the one guy has an "uber rig" with 7 GTX Titan Black cards, three in his PC, four in the Netstor breakout box. I can't image in how quick that is (or how much it cost!)
This promo was rendered using their kit: https://vimeo.com/85391326
FYI, the Netstor runs the GPUs as quickly as if the cards were in the computer itself.
I'm the "one guy" Weezer is talking about. Just to clarify a couple things. Minor stuff. I don't have all Titan Black cards. Only 3 or 4 of them are the Black version. Still, crazy ass rig for sure. Love it! Worth the money if you can swing it. And that window animation wasn't a promo but an actual job for Pella. More of those coming. They're a really good client.
Thanks all-
Alec

Does this mean it will be implemented in 2.x releases or no idea when ?
Thanks!
Coucou!
it's a hope. We need extended shader support for this kind of effects. I know everybody will want more, but dev team is very busy with current features. And this are big. I can't ask for much more, before new features is completed.Bolos wrote: Err, you said "at the moment".

Congratulations aoktar,
Remarkable progress so far. Love to see some more tests as they come through.
Any plans to integrate Mograph Colour/Multi shaders? Or other Cinema 4D shaders for that matter after 2.0?
regards.

Hi, very nice tests! Can´t wait for it!
And as everyone here: Just one question:
Is there a special reason why we can´t stack/mix shaders in one materialchannel and will it be possible in a futher version?
Nice job! Thanks!

Regarding the Mac GPU's mentioned previously in this thread, i really feel the below picture is the way to go. We have two Mac's set up like this in conjunction with our Digital Storm machines for a total of twelve Titans. Works well.
I'm so stoked on 2.0! Displacement will be a god-send.

Some comments on the Mac setup.
- I have found that the majority of projects render stupid fast with just two Titans.
- After some testing, we found that even though the one card is on a 4x slot, it renders at the same speed as the 16x slot Titan. Better for airflow this way.
- Again, after some testing, we have found that rendering with the two Titans on the Mac takes almost the exact same amount of time as rendering on the DS machines with just 2 cards turned on. The PC's are slightly faster, but only by about a second on a very crazy scene.
- While it would be better for airflow to have the side of the Mac on, we have found that overheating is not an issue. The Titans run a lot cooler than our old 680s we had. I do sometimes put a fan on the cards just to be sure though.
- The Titans are fairly silent. My Mac is right by my head and I never really hear the thing.
- If you have OS 10.9, you will need no drivers to run the Titans. They are built into the OS, but you'll never see the Apple logo on startup again. My understanding is that later releases of 10.8 also have the Titan drivers.
