JimStar can estimate how far is Mac version coming. I bought the plugin and test on Win but most of my usual tools runs on Mac. Thanks.

Sorry, I can't estimate it. So far I'm working on this version...Aenima wrote:JimStar can estimate how far is Mac version coming. I bought the plugin and test on Win but most of my usual tools runs on Mac. Thanks.
Hello,
With each new version of blender, we will pay for it ? What is expected by OTOY?
I don't want to pay for an update of blender, opensource and free...
Thanks.

"The plugin will require the user to have a valid OctaneRender™ Standalone version installed and activated."
Can anyone explain to me rationally why is necessary to have standalone version to be able to use plugin ??? Are those two connected ? Why is this ?
thx

No, you will not need to pay after new Blender versions.dono wrote:Hello,

Don't worry about it.
Thanks for that information. That may explain why I cannot just switch the Textures of a Cycles Scene in the Image Texture Node of Octane. I always have to completely reimport the Texturefile into Blender to make it work.JimStar wrote:But be careful opening Octane scene (having Octane nodes) in plain version of Blender: you may lose some nodes info after saving the scene there. E.g. you may lose the filepath in image textures.
I'm still searching the ways to workaraund this not changing the Blender's core code too much..
Kind regards

Has the Octane Properties section disappeared from the Object Data panel? Or did you come up with a better solution to the mesh type?? It is taking an age to export 5000 scatter objects because I can't make then scatter type objects.
