Very nice progress andrian. Love the last render. If you could bake a bit of displacement to stone wall it would look much better.

Cheers,

I don't get the design...I hope it's reconstruction :? don't mind me...

Anyway, render quality is very good, and I would like to say modelling as well ;) If I can suggest...maybe few bevels(chamfer edges) on few very sharp corners, notably the heavy stone walls, and roof, these lack certain details when using pure texture without displacement (or I would actually suggest to use displace modifier in modelling, those polygons would be total killer look on those stone walls ;) )

And please lesser angle on FOV.. it doesn't show any dynamics in design, since there is none, it just creates crazy fish eye effect, which doesn't suit this particular images.

Anyway, one of best jobs here anyway, don't mind my crit :)

Thanks guys for comments. Critique are always welcomed.
And yes it's a reconstruction ;)
Since I manage to reduce the triangles to 2,5 million and I think there will be some space left for chamfering those edges..
FOV is a requested from my client so I can't do much about that  , but I will render some images with normal FOV as Radiance requested ;)
As for displacement, there is a normal maps on the floor and stones but nothing more. Baked displacement will be the best option but not for my Vram limit..

There is more renders on the way.

2,5 is a lot, but I know how much those Ivy's take so it seems right. Maybe delete some objects (like Ivy on outside walls) which are not in the particular picture frame being rendered to save some polygons which could be used to enhance details on stone walls.

But maybe such work is not necessary if client won't even notice prolly :) , just saying it would look nicer :)

It was 6 million poly, but i manage to shrink it to 2.5. Now i add some grass and stuff...Normal maps seems shows up in different light conditions and camera angles, and its less visible in direct sun light..
See this camera angle, normal maps pop up quite good, and you can see chamfer of the edges I didn't remove..

I try to add baked displacement on the walls, but that polygons goes up in the sky..

Very nice!! Noticed that you said you modeled this in autocad then max. Does anyone know if you could create this type of detail using Archicad? Thanks for the thoughts.

hi david jones.
i work with archicad 12 and cinema 4d 11.5 ,what ever you can do with autodesk , you can do with archicad .does
two BIM softwares are very simmilar, archicad is more user friendly i think.
cheers

I would say more, whatever you can do with autocad a monkey with a type writter can do it better and faster (and a blind monkey at that), and that's coming from a guy that does most of it's work on autocad. Sadly enough is the most used soft in my line of work around here... so unless something changes, I'm stuck with it for a while ;)
