I'm loving Octane for 3DS Max but I noticed that you can not render anything that is not in the viewport. So unless I turn my viewport percentage up to 100% on lets say, particles, they won't render. This is a major issue for me as I would like to render hair with the Hairfarm plugin but there's just no way I can display all 100,000 hairs (as geometry no less) in my viewport, 3DS just crashes.
I would like the add my vote to animated textures as well.

1) already in the wishlist
2) already in the wishlist
3) already in the wishlist
4) good idea but with a zoomable framebuffer isn't necessary

use Max 2012 and Nitrous driver, it's the Quadro performance killer driver (finally)
I'm displaying now 180.000 hairs for a total of 5.700.000 polys without problems (GTX580 3GB)

hhhm I have all that set already.... and checking it again it's now working! Sooo Hairfarm must have been getting hung up on something.... I guess I really need to reformat soon too. Thanks for the example, I would not have kept trying or thought that 3DS would let me work with that much going on.

Karba told me that at the moment is not possible to hide the body of the Octane light primitive because it isn't created with scripts (simple mesh+blackbody or ies texture), light objects are ready made in the Octane kernel.
I hope that Roeland will update soon these Octane lights because at this stage is impossible to use photometric lights.
