This is the best comment in all the Octane X discussions online.
But seriously if one is trying to make work today why would you wait/bet on something that's not available yet? Wouldn't one already have the system/pipeline they need? Really looking forward to seeing it release for competitions sake and the possibility for getting a Mac system in the future .

I have been working under Windows, look at my signature.
It is precisely because Goldorak said that OctaneX is coming soon and repeating the guarantee for this, I bought MacBookPro16 and AMD eGPU as my mobile office assistant. Obviously, I failed.

Hobirchina, sounds like you need someone to say “it’s going to be ok”.
It really is. Don’t throw your toys out of the pram, octane x will be with us shortly.
You’ll then need to find something else to get anxious about.

Yes we are porting EmbergenFX to Metal for iOS and macOS and Vulkan on Linux. Same with sculptron which is windows only. Both of these are going to be compiled with the same tools we used for Octane X. We’ve already tested EmbergenFX on Mac Pro in bootcamp and it runs great.

Dang. Well, even though it’s not happening as quickly as we might want, you guys are democratizing an entire industry in a massive way. Thanks for your work on this stuff. I’m eager to start doing more 3D stuff on my Mac.Goldorak wrote:Yes we are porting EmbergenFX to Metal for iOS and macOS and Vulkan on Linux. Same with sculptron which is windows only.
