Hi..
this is my second competition entry...

title: sunrise

description: its a simple scene, a midrise apartment with central pedestrian street- with a small area as reflective pool, and low-height boundaries. its interconnected at upper levels with pergolas to give a more 'enclosed' feel...

technicals: scene has 78820 triangles, and daylight as light source.. vegetation is opacity mapped..flower pots and obelisk taken from 3dwarehouse (free models)...a little postproduction was required to remove a few fireflies (highlighted in the attached octane window)

WIP: http://www.refractivesoftware.com/forum ... f=6&t=5241

wish you all a very good luck :)

ver 2.43 is very stable, and connection to nodes worked really well- now i could jump between various camera angles and environment settings. overall great..thumbs up

Hi,

I wanted to work a little bit more on the idea behind my first entry, and as I had a little extra time left, I decided to submit two more pictures.
These ones should work together and are a sort of continuation of the first one. I called them 'Hide and Seek' and 'Swing'.
I like the idea of this big, brutal techno-beast playing like a child in a bit 'grotesque' positions ...

Hope you like.

The models used are the same as in my first submission plus 'Faded Industry' by Stonemason.

Thanks again, roubal. I'm not 100% satisfied with it (but then again, CG artists are never 100% satisfied... there's always something you could re-tweak :) ) - I would make better grass & vine leaves are not perfect also, but I've had enough of this scene (modelling, texturing & tweaking for the last few weeks)...

We have done our best, now the luck part comes in, so, good luck to you and anyone else also...

New images of Elisabeth's venture in Sahara.

Fortunately she has been localized, but landing on the sand is too dangerous for an airplane, and it would not be able to take off !

So, Elisabeth will have to wait more for her rescue ! :(

As always, no other treatment than removing fireflies. Everything made by me (models and textures). All textures made by hand or procedural. I try to use as less texture as possible to compensate the high detailed geometry, as every single object is high poly.

Scenes from 3 Millions triangles, up to 5.1Mt. Rendering time from 20min to 6h30 ! Night scenes are long to render !

Proof-Screens will follow.

Nights are cold in the desert, but radio waves propagation is better at night !

Nothing better than a friendly voice on the air to help waiting ! :)

Hi Octaners

My name is Jan and this is my second entry called Old times memories.

My inspiration came from old ages, when I was traveling with my friends around the europe. We were staying in the capital cities and chilling near the subways in tunnels. Yes, It is grafitti. It was thing in my life, which gave me great friends, It was everything for me in that time. It was my creativity and also my hideout from normal reality.

Nothing works just from one side, every coins has the second one. Second side was, that grafitti could took me my freedom, money, nervesÉ

Anyway, I have great memories, and I'm very proud, that I had this old ages. You can trust me, it was unbelievable, fabulous...

3 442 269 triangles
rendering time 3-10 hours
added bloom and little denois only. no color postpro

Hope you like it. 8-)

Cheers
