+1.

But a fully integrated finished product, not a partly developed beta. The two are a excellent fit.

The problem is with the licensing rather than finding people to do the job. ;)
Unfortunately it doesn't seem likely an integrated plugin for Blender is going to happen any time soon.
I understand this issue is really in the hands of Otoy/Refractive to resolve by altering their licensing terms so Blenders GPL conditions can play along with it. Probably they aren't willing to do that, however if they want the business, and I guess it might be worth something like NZ$200,000 to them ultimately, its up to them to make a move.
What are they doing about it and when? Well your guess is as good as mine....

As I said in an other topic somewhere (I don't remember where), there is a large Blender user base of Octane, and when will come the time of upgrading for 2.0 stable release, the availability (or not) of a plugin for Blender at this moment will certainly have a big impact on sales.

If you look at the number of posts in the plugins forum, the Blender sub-forum is the second largest, lagging only 200 posts behind 3DSMax. All others are way behind.

While is debatable if this reflects the real distribution of users among 3D apps, I hope Refractive will have in mind this statistic, when deciding the future of the Blender user group ;)
