Hi,
Firstly, i have to tell this release is awesome!! Thank you!
But unfortunately, i have some issue.
If i use it in R19.068 and render a multilayer file (EXR) with denoiser pass and object mask, the result somehow is messed. De denoised pass contains just that object which got the octane-objec tag and the layer ID.
If i use this release in R18.057 wit the same scene, it rendered correctly.
Moreover, the two rendered file doesn't contain the same pass-structure.
In R19 there are:
-Background
-Denoised beauty
-RLMask2
In R18 version contais:
-#0001 #Denoised beauty
-#0002 #RLMask2
-#0003 #Denoised beauty
I attach the rendered files and the scene.
Thank you!

Thanks!aoktar wrote:I'm testing on Standalones and I can see similar difference between V3 and V4. I cannot know because rendering that's done by the renderer. I'll ask to core dev. teamstefano-dear wrote:Hi,
I have made some comparison test between 3.08 and this new release but it seem much much slower![]()
Same scene :
V 3.08 time 00:53
V4 RC2 time 02:56
Rendered both with pathtrace and without denoiser...
How it's possible?

Sounds like an issue due update of C4D. It may have different behaviour on multilayer bitmaps after previous version. I'll test it later.laker882 wrote:Hi,

thank you. I am trying to find the answer where volume denoiser is located in 3ds max. We have RC2 version of octane that should have volumetric denosier.aoktar wrote:Yescoilbook wrote:Do you guys have volumetric AI denoiser? I thought standalone RC1 came with one

I also had this problem, very similar with OSL compile issues and already reported to Aoktar. It seems to be more often now in latter realeases (3 and 4).wrapthereal66 wrote:Hi ! suddently my octane irp crash ALL the time ! for no reason !

One of my gpus stopped working after this bug. It kept happening until I disconnected it in order to render again.

Hello Ahmet,
I have lots of problems with the CUDA ERROR 700 when working.
I've created a simple test scene in c4d with Octane Plugin V4-RC2-R1, four cubes each with 5-6 Image Textures in 8k for diffuse, roughness, specular, displacement, etc.
I have two 1080ti, under Win10 3GB are reserved by the system, so I have effectively 8GB in Octane to work with.
As I noticed, I can load textures in the GPU ram up to about 4GB then Octane starts to outsource them to the computer RAM (Out-of-Core Textures)
why does this happen at 4GB with the swap (Out of core) to the Systhem RAM even though 4GB in the GPU are free?
Then I reinstalled Win10, performed a BIOS update, reinstalled c4d without any plugins except octane and tried my test scene with the four cubes with a fresh systhem, Unfortunately without success ... CUDA Error 700!
Then I downloaded the Octane Standalone 4 RC 2 version and exported my test scene from c4d via Octane LiveViewer and opened it in Octane Standalone, without problems, no CUDA ERROR, in the standalone version the problem does not occur but in the plugin it does.
As a test, I disabled out-of-core textures in the option of the plug-in, then I can load a bit more in the GPU RAM, but after a while there is a new Error, CUDA Error 713.
I have tried several different Nvidia drivers, and removed the old ones before testing a new diver, without any improvements.
It must be a problem of the plugin and not of the standalone core.
I'm not the only one with this problem so I hope you can help us.
This is my setup:
Win10 Pro
Mainboard MSI (MS7A78)
IntelCorei7-7700K 4,20 GHz
32GB RAM
2x GTX1080ti
c4d r19.068
Octane V4-RC2-R1
Thank you for your hard work!
Yassin

Plugin's itself is not having any cuda software. It's built over standalone core. So it cannot be an issue of plugin alone. Maybe some conflicts between C4D opengl and octane core's cuda structure. Try with software opengl mode to have more ideas.y81r wrote: I have tried several different Nvidia drivers, and removed the old ones before testing a new diver, without any improvements.
