Anyone having hard time converting the few ones that use to convert decently?
Why can't we have a decent converter that convert Corona too? there are good materials out there, not to mention some customers with models mapped in Corona..is that too hard? I know about OSL on his way..(..) but that is not a converter...
now Sketchup material don't get converted?..rolling back to 3.39 need a fix as the material slot can't be used without a fix.. come on

octane converter is a headache! FStorm all perfectly converts even octane shaders! It makes only one person Karba

Well I really can't understand why Octane should suffer of such difficulties in converting..yes Fstorm has no problem..and it converts Corona too..Elvissuperstar007 wrote:octane converter is a headache! FStorm all perfectly converts even octane shaders! It makes only one person Karba

Issue with the vray material converter, simply depend on the material structures.
The software you mentioned has a vray cloned material editor structure so they use easily-interchangeable parameters and values to convert.
Octane Render is a spectral engine. there are logical reasons why conversion does not always work properly.
We would need an interpreter rather than a converter..
About glass conversion, well, this seems to me a nearly troll statement.

Paride I realized that the mentioned software has a Vray clone editor and easy to interchange libraries and the same goes for Corona perhaps, but it does not change much as for have the chance to get a proper converter or 'Interpreter' like you said. Many of us can also refer to existing 3D libraries were the model is already mapped but un-octaned..it helps more than you can ever imagineparide4331 wrote:Issue with the vray material converter, simply depend on the material structures.

Hi justix,
I agree; personally I use Vray converter to have RGB textures already loaded in Octane material slots, but not to use the converted materials.
Often Vray materials are physically fake and unusable with Octane's physical light.
I know we never have time with dead lines working, but we should create their own library materials to use with 3D library and PBR shader is the right way.
