I've been playing around with some scenes in the modo plugin and while the UI lag is generally OK, I think I would still like render priority. If we want a less laggy UI, we have to change parallel samples to a low value, but this restarts the render.abstrax wrote: Also render priority is currently not implemented due to the kernel overhaul. Actually, since we are now launching much smaller kernels more often, we don't see the need for this functionality anymore and want to remove it, but aren't sure if there are still cases where we would need a throttling of the kernel calls. Please let us know, in case you run into issues like a blocked/laggy UI.
eg. If I start an overnight render with 16 parallel samples on a heavy scene, my PC will be quite slow. If I later decide I want to do some browsing, I would have to pause the render now. With render priority, I could just set it to low while I do a few things, then set it back to high when I'm done.
If parallel samples / max tiles, could be adjusted without restarting the render, then we wouldnt need render priority.
