Actually, since we are now launching much smaller kernels more often, we don't see the need for this functionality anymore and want to remove it, but aren't sure if there are still cases where we would need a throttling of the kernel calls. Please let us know, in case you run into issues like a blocked/laggy UI.
I've been playing around with some scenes in the modo plugin and while the UI lag is generally OK, I think I would still like render priority. If we want a less laggy UI, we have to change parallel samples to a low value, but this restarts the render.

eg. If I start an overnight render with 16 parallel samples on a heavy scene, my PC will be quite slow. If I later decide I want to do some browsing, I would have to pause the render now. With render priority, I could just set it to low while I do a few things, then set it back to high when I'm done.

If parallel samples / max tiles, could be adjusted without restarting the render, then we wouldnt need render priority.

That is a known issue, we have not found a way to make triangles with a displacement render correctly with motion blur without artefacts.

Hi Guys,

I think there is a tiny problem with the image antialiasing (the filter).
Even if I lower down the Filter Size value to 1.0. The renders seems to act like there is an effective blurring filter running.
Then I sharpened the image in PS to test. I posted gif anim of the region of the render. at %100. One frame for raw render, one frame for sharpened frame. Then a zoomed version of the area.

Please wait till the end. Gif suns at slow speed for you to compare. (*click on the image to play the Gif)

The render is done in Diffuse mode, ran for enough to reduce noise. Filter Size 1.0

What I would like to have is be able to create crystal clear renders without too much PS. I mostly render product viz. So it's Crucial for me to keep the clean sharp output.

Please do not give advice for workarounds sharperners. I would like to know if Dev Team is planning to deal with the problem possibly in v4?
;)
happy new year

Hi Guys,

Sorry if I am asking a silly question in your case, but just don't want to assume anything...and I am sure developers will address you on it if it is a known issue. But just to troubleshoot:
(1) Do you have camera focus adjusted appropriately, and
(2) can you reproduce/load the scene in an earlier V2 and get the sharpness you want and expect? This is usually the interesting part ;)

We have always had to sharpen our images, even with 0 aperture and filter size set to 1.

Yes it'a silly question. Kidding you mate. :)
But yeah, Of course camera is focused correctly. With 0 aperture and all..
It is the same for all versions.

What I'm asking is:
Is there a possibility if Dev Team can make rendered images more crystal clear. or let us give more settings to make that happen

hi admin! can I pre-purchase a license for c4d plugin(3.x) ? cuz I need to buy a new c4d plugin license(right now it's still 2.x and 199euros) but I don't want to pay an extra upgrading price(say 99 euros?) in the future??? I need 3.x license(assume 3.x will be 199 euros too?)

No, the v3 final cost will roughly be like v2 + v3 upgrade, so there is no difference in buying it now or later on in terms of costs, but if you buy it now you can already use the new v3 features during the development ;)

Hi All

I seem to recall hearing that you would be allowed to import FBX into V3. Is that still on the cards ?

Any possibility of using Pixar USD? Alembic while great for many things struggles in a teaching enviroment when it comes to assigning materials.

Kind regards

We are testing a stereo panorama and found that the environment medium behaves differently in each eye.
I can send a panorama sample if you want.
