This is a third party plugin. So it's not owned by Otoy. That is where part of the complications come in. Otoy didn't do the work. While a lot of Otoy's plugins are third party, some Devs are more active that others. So it's less of an issue. It's been a challenge for us for a long time, but in truth Otoy would have never bothered to use their own resources to make a plugin for Daz users.Nubblet wrote: Who has the rights to the plugin? I would assume otoy would have them exclusively, so why cant they just give the project to another developer?
Right now I am not going to speculate on the forums what the future holds. Later, I can always retroactively say "I saw that coming" or what have you. Right now I am trying to be optimistic, because I don't really like the limitations of Iray, do really like the OcDS plugin (and hope it gets proper love), and like Octane in general. In fact I am really looking forward to some Octane 3 because of some features I could use externally and unrelated to Daz studio...
