ROUBAL wrote:Hi, As feature requests, I would like to see one more path in the preferences : Currently, there is a path for meshes, a path for textures, and a path for projects. For my own, I always put my rendered images in a dedicated folder, separating by the way input files and output files. So, I would like a path for rendered images, because each time I save an image, Octane opens the project folder, and I have to search the render folder.

I will also ask again for a packing feature, like in indigo, allowing to create a folder containing all files used in the selected ocs project : obj, mtl and all textures. As all my textures are in the same folder, it is really usefull when one have to pack a scene to send it for checking purpose or saving the project on a USB key for example.

I don't mean I absolutely want this in the next upcoming release, but please keep these features in mind ! ;)

Thank you in advance.

Philippe.
Maybe we can use the packing feature with the plugins...

I wanted to say what are you calling plugins ? Do you mean the exporters ? If it is the case, it is not what I need : Blender already contain a packing feature, but after working on a scene in Octane, most of the textures have been changed and the Octane project content has nothing to do any more with the original Blender project content. So, it is important to pack the files after treatment in Octane, not before :!:

Hehe, i know, but the path/name is written in the ocs.
It shows like this:
<linkedfilename>G:\Images\haribo_bump.bmp</linkedfilename>

I think i can read the ocs and search each line to the tag <linkedfilename>
So i become the pathes/names...
All other is a copy and paste to a temp-folder and a little bit use of the pkzip library.
All in all, it should not be a problem.
But I has no feedback if anyone with Softimage need it.
Maybe its better if Refractive do it, because then is all the same and no plugin have a other solution...

also a small request if possible, even thou octane can actually go way over 4000x4000 if you try to do it using the switches of the comand line it won't render over that resolution (or I did something wrong).

@mlody47,
come on, that´s just a 3 minutes read on wikipedia!
I think this picture explains it best:

Image

it´s just a mechanic device for offsetting (=shifting) the camera lens, so you can extend your FOV while keeping the vanishing points unchanged.

It´s great to get a strict two-point perspective (instead of three-point perspective) for people who do architecture visualization a lot.
It´s also a great helper for people working in the stereoscopy field. With a lens offset they can add keystoning-free convergence to parallel aligned camera rigs (no toe-in).

I just hope shift lens has a slider for the amount rather than "all or nothing" boolean checkbox
