As far as I know, Refractive software is not a large firm but building very progressive product.
And now, you have to concentrate on basic things, after that, you could do the other things.
Octane's amazing speed, would be enough, no more extra features are not needed, by now.

One suggestion that seems silly, but I think that would be great, Is that when we need to change the material (glossy - specular for example) the field of node inspector returns to the top and When we have many materials this process is very annoying because we have to find again the material that was changed to config settings. If it could be fixed will be nice.

I hope you can understand what I mean because of my english.

If it needs a internet connection to works, my plans are going down...

Because I always will have this obstacle.

There´s a alternative option for my situation?

Sorry for my bad english, but I think you can understand what I said.
Hi,

There is no solution currently, the internet connection for octanelive is a requirement until we release a hardware based solution in the near future.
As 2.2 was cracked and distributed for free (strangling our company), the move to an internet based authentication system saved the company and octane's further development.

I understand it's not %100 for people with no or limited connectivity, but we are working on a solution.

Normally you would use the material picker and only have your material in the node inspector, it would be quite tedious to modify them when selecting the mesh node and having the long list of materials connected to it.
Does that make sense ?! :)

I find it much easier to change the materials using the nodes. especially when I am changing emitters which are not visible in the scene. The material picker is useless in this case.

I agree that is is very annoying that the materials nodes keep closing back up every time you change one. So I will add my voice to ask for this to be changed.

You can also use the outliner.
Alls material macros have an entry. Expand they and you can get every material in seconds...

I actually meant the outliner. Sadly this collapses all the time as well. You have to select a material, change it and then drill down again to select the next material. It needs to stay where you left it.
