i can't tell when ds removes them, but that is one of the reasons - as long as ds reports them back i don't remove them from the list (or in other words as long s they are also shown in the studio image menu). another reason might be unlinked octane materials - as long as a material isn't finally deleted (or at last images nodes within), it'll occupy entries for it's maps in the list...larsmidnatt wrote:Oh strange. Not sure how that works then because those materials shouldn't have been remember for any reason. I didn't try restarting the software though. Guess Ill try that next time. Yes some of the mats were gone, but still had so many it slowed down assigning textures to things.
Thx for explaining.

Regarding the unlinked octane mats, I know about that, that isn't the case. And I guess daz has some issues. I was able to see more of the textures clear out of the menu when I restarted Daz, but I still have a few in there even though there is no reason. There aren't any unlinked mats, none of the materials I have have any orphans, and the daz scene doesn't have the original objects anymore.t_3 wrote:i can't tell when ds removes them, but that is one of the reasons - as long as ds reports them back i don't remove them from the list (or in other words as long s they are also shown in the studio image menu). another reason might be unlinked octane materials - as long as a material isn't finally deleted (or at last images nodes within), it'll occupy entries for it's maps in the list...larsmidnatt wrote:Oh strange. I restart DS a lot anyway due to material issues at the moment so it's not a biggie. If this was 4.0 and it's long load times for a genesis figure I would be annoyed but it's not that painful in 4.5/4.6.

Try this.
Wireframe the program is terminated.
DAZ Studio is run again.
Load the scene. What will happen?

Rendered in 14sec love the wet alley look.
