Amazing interactive ,the Octane demo.
I've Instaled this version of the plugin for 3ds max 2013 ,and licensed all right.
I could go for an official version, instead of a Beta, Should I ?
However I can't see any render image while rendering the files.
I noticed there is an option for Octane window and the native render window for Max .
Both are black.I was also expecting your plugin to open Octane, and it just didn't happen
Do you have a tutorial link you could send me , please ?
I am sure it's all happening because I am a complete Newbie to this plugin.
Don't send me a link to the manual, it didn't help .
Do you have octane light sources.
Do you have non black environment?

Yes the environment was off , my distraction,Sorry, silly mistake, works fine now with an HDR file.
I am able to render a single image, but Please How do I render animations ? I can't see where to input the time for each frame etc...
I know there's a way , and I am astonished with the speed my test render got a photo like 1920 x 1080 image.
Can't wait to render an animation with motion blur. :o
half hour after ...just find out , using pathtracing and input the maximum samples and I am rendering , correct ?
I found 16000 samples , really high.I am afraid of all my architectural interior animations will maybe need something like this.
Please if you know a tutorial , send me a link, doesn't have to be this version of the plugin !

do you need different Max samples for each frame? You have to use Backburner. It packs and renders different scenes. For animations it's not necessary to have variable max samples. Probably it's possible to add a threshold noise-sample feature that dynamically change the max samples for example when the camera looks at darker areas where are necessary more samples.

I don't need to vary the samples ,or bother with annoying backburner. fixed samples are all right for my animations.
The thing I lack in this plugin version is the responsiveness , and working in Real time
with Octane, Tweak materials environment and see it in Real time.
Working in Max is crawling in comparison and the Octane Window is just not the same.
Is there any way I can only export back and forth from Octane into Max ?
and again, please , is there any tutorial available at all , with the basic workflow for animation ?

for me Octane for Max runs at impressive speed. The sphere preview is not efficient like the Octane standalone, you can't change kernels and wait for samples refinement, it's fixed.

BTW i never use the sphere preview to refine the materials, I isolate the object I want texturize and then I apply an hdr as environment, then I switch it on-off.

You can't export Octane for Max scene into Octane standalone.

:) .I Think the isolate works and it is faster, the other thing is maybe using Max 2012 instead of 2013, as the Max 2012 implement is faster, I heard. :!:
Just updated my Nvidia 4000 card driver , and that ,made all the difference, now I have responsiveness from the Octane windows inside the plugin !
Thank you.
