I am writing this script for 3ds max but only for materials.
but the problem is that the written materials and exporter works with standard obj exporter ... but he does not understand the new materials and obj files to all sites used one material.
need to write your own obj exporter who understands the written materials.

but it is only material.
position of the camera, and everything else is not possible in obj format.
perhaps if you write all at once in ocs file will be both simpler and get full exporter.

why don't you contact [gk] via PM and coordinate with him ?
maybe you can both work together on it.

can you try starting octane from a terminal ?

Works on GTS 8800 512MB and 8800 GT 512 MB with no problems.. (both capability 1.1 )

I've tried from a terminal and ... nothing , a message telling " error source file not found (...)" appears.

the problem report informs :
" Dyld Error Message:
Library not loaded: /usr/X11/lib/libglut.3.dylib
Referenced from: /Applications/OctaneRender 1.021 beta2.1.app/Contents/MacOS/octane
Reason: image not found "

weird - it looks like it wants X11. Try installing X11 from the Apple XCode tools:

http://developer.apple.com/technologies/xcode.html

I have it installed - maybe that's your problem.

Note to devs - right click for material picker doesn't work for me. I think there is an issue with multibutton on the Mac. I'm using a Wacom Intuos3 tablet and mouse and right click works with all other apps.

edit: ok - it's for some reason mapped to the middle mouse button

thanks, this is why we are now releasing our release candidates to customers :)
we forgot to add the CMD+click on mac os X for the multi-picking.
i'll fix this in the next release.

normally, for panning the viewport you'd use the right mousebutton, although on OSX this does'nt seem to work,
we added CMD+leftclick to do panning.
but we forgot to add CMD+leftclick for the multi-picker...

I'm running in MAC OS X 10.5.8 ... and this Xcode stuff runs for snowleopard .. don't tell me that I have to install snow ?
