Is there anywhere to find a change log or list of new/improved features per each release of OctaneX for cinema 4d? I'd like to know what's fixed or added to PR5, etc. Seems to be a very confusing and haphazard way of releasing product builds. On the Arnold web site, for example, they have a running change log that's very easy to read. Lists new features, bug fixes, and improvements for each dot release.

The BETA version of OctaneX for Maya v18.19 PR6 (Catalina only) is ready and available on Maya forum section.
Please report any issues in this version's forum thread (https://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=109&t=76427).

Made some render tests before upgrading to BigSur on my production rig. Octane X performance is more or less exactly the same in C4D R23 using Octane X PR5 for macOS Catalina and BigSur, respectively.

The only kink so far is that I have to leave the render settings open in BigSur to use high priority. As soon as I close the settings it snaps back to medium priority. The difference for me is a drop in eGPU load from 98% to 80% going from high to medium.

Testing performed using Razer Core X and AMD Radeon VII.

It's becoming really difficult to follow the release plan for this product. The Houdini plug-in is on PR2, but I'm seeing people on here talking about PR5 and 6 for other plugins. It's not at all clear why. Are there technical hurdles? Are we waiting on SideFX to update something? The Windows plugin seems compatible with the latest Houdini, but PR2 is stuck on 18.0.566 (a particularly buggy release).

This isn't meant to disparage the hard work the developers are doing, I do UX design for a living and I know it takes time to get software right. But--as a customer--I'm frustrated by the lack of transparency into the overall plan. It'd be great if there was a simple, single source of truth outside of the forum to go and check status. I don't want anything rushed, I just want to know what to expect.

To Clarify,

The New PR5 (Big Sur) C4D Standalone for Octane X is not working for everyone?
Was fairly optimistic this would do the trick, but I guess we still need to hang tight (unless you want to re subscribe onto enterprise?)?

Sorry, I had the PR5 plugins builds ready, but now that we have the just-released PR6 SDK I'm going to compile the plugins again using it and post the new build later today.

Thanks for your patience,

Just updated to Big Sur thinking now that PR5 for Big Sur was out, I'd be golden!

Big. Mistake. Octane is virtually unusable. I've tried it with S22 and R23, crashes constantly (and yes, I only have the xlibs for the corresponding versions installed correctly in their respective folders). I get instant render errors when first starting it up most of the time, if I add a transform/projection note in my materials, instant crash (it used to do that some of the time on Catalina PR4, now its constant).

Please help :(

bepeg4d wrote:Hi guys,
the c4doctaneX PR5 for Big Sur has a typo in the name, and it is called “Regular”, but it is a Studio subscription instead.
So, it has been mistakenly loaded in the Enterprise section, instead of the Studio section of ther Downloads server.

The version should work with both Enterprise and Studio licenses (even if limited to max 2x GPUs without Net Render), here is the direct link for downloading it:
https://render.otoy.com/customerdownloa ... bigsur.zip

About c4doctaneX PR5 for Catalina, it is correctly available in the Downloads section for both Enterprise and Studio licenses:
Enterprise c4doctane PR5 Catalina
Studio c4doctane PR5 Catalina

Happy Mac GPU rendering,
Hi Bepeg4d:
I installed OctaneX PR5 plugin on my MacOS Big Sur 11.0.1 , but whenever I click any octane button on the top menu, my C4D will crash. Is my Mac incompatible with OctaneX? It is a Mid-2015 MacBook pro, 16GB, Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB, AMD Radeon R9 M370X.

Please help:(
Thanks.

So just to confirm here, will support for Apple M1 come with the Cinema 4d PR6 release?
