Phantom Scatter 1.9 now available!

Visit the website here: http://scatter.phantomtechnology.nl/

» Added function UI BACKGROUND under the MAIN module. This function allows you to choose from 3 background UI options that affect the graphics of the modules. The options none, partly and solid.

» Improved curve quality of the GUI.

» The GUI now shows the number of imported triangles and the number of detected INSET edges (INSET SWITCH has to be ON). Useful for debugging.

» Source & range preview now has range min and range max indicators to make it easier to understand how it works.

» Added function TRANSPARENCY under the MAIN module, allows you to draw the imported *.OBJ's triangles transparently (except the currently selected scatter surface).

» The 3D map now shows degree information around the main ring, helping you to orient (if needed).

» The functions in the MAIN module have been restructured to be more logical. Function INSET SWITCH has been moved over to the IMPORT/EXPORTmodule.

» Added function EDIT MODULES, found in then MAIN module. When this is set to ON, arrows along with the text 'MOVE' will appear above the menu modules. You can press these buttons to re-order the modules as your see fit. This setup will be saved automatically and you can have a different setup for each scatter mode.

» CURVE-scatter function name changes: 1. COPY has been renamed to COPY SELECTION. 2. PASTE has been renamed to PASTE SELECTION. 3. DELETE has been renamed to DELETE SELECTION.

» Function COPY SELECTION for CURVEscatter now displays a popup confirming the action when the function is activated.

» Fixed HUD updating for all variants chance edits.

» Added a brand new scatter mode: DECORATION-scatter. This mode is specifically designed to quickly put instances for man-made objects in your scenes, like chairs, tables, plants and decoration. Instances are placed in the scene and let you position and rotate them. Upon export, a *.CSV file is created for every instance type that you have placed in the scene. You can then easily rig these up within Octane Render. Instances and groups you place in the scene are saved automatically. Use the PROJECTS module to seperate your projects.

» Added function CURRENT INSTANCE TYPE in the TYPES/GROUPS module found under DECORATION-scatter. This function allows you to select the current instance type. This can also be done by clicking any of the instance type indicators in the GUI (this is much more convenient). You can have up to 60 instance types.

» For a better understanding of the placed instances in your scene, it is possible to give every instance type a reference length, width and height. You can also set a name for every instance type. Groups can also be named.

» Added function CURRENT GROUP in the TYPES/GROUPS module under DECORATION-scatter. Apart from individually placed instances, it is also possible to place instances inside groups, and then place instances of those groups around in the scene. With this function you can select group. This can also be done by clicking any of the group indicators in the GUI (this is much more convenient). You can have up to 20 different groups.

» Fixed transform tool indicator in the HUD.

» function PLACE INSTANCE for DECORATION-scatter. This function allows you to place the instances around in the scene of the currently selected type. The primary node is the node the object type should be placed at. The secondary node determines the position the instance should be oriented towards.

» Added function PLACE GROUP for DECORATION-scatter. This function allows you to place the instances around in the scene of the currently selected type. The primary node is the node the group should be placed at. The secondary node determines the position the group should be oriented towards. Group decondary nodes can only be oriented around the Z-axis (yaw/heading) and will have their Z-coordinate automatically snapped to the primary node's Z-coordinate.

» Added function POSITION TRANSFORM TOOL for DECORATION-scatter, allows you to move the transform tool around on the active selection. Useful when you want to choose an exact pivot point when rotating the selection.

» Added selection functions for DECORATION-scatter: COPY SELECTION, and DELETE SELECTION. These functions apply to the current selection of nodes.

» To make copying in difficulty situations more user friendly, functions COPY SELECTION ALONG X, COPY SELECTION ALONG Y and COPY SELECTION ALONG Z have been added.

» Added function ADD INSTANCE TO GROUP for DECORATION-scatter. This function allows you to place an instance of the currently selected type into the currently selected group. You will need to select a single primary node of a group placed in the scene before activating this function. The newly placed instance will take the position and orientation of the selected group into account.

» Added function REMOVE INST. FROM GROUP for DECORATION-scatter. Allows you to remove an instance from a group.

» Added function DISBAND INST. FROM GROUP. This function allows you disband an instance from a group, meaning it will leave a single instance in the scene, disbanded from any group. You can then edit this instance and add it to the group again if you wish. This method allows you to edit the instances inside groups.

» Added functions ALIGN ALONG X (RED), ALIGN ALONG Y (GREEN) and ALIGN ALONG Z (BLUE). These functions align the currently selected secondary nodes (be it types or groups) up along the axis of choice to the same position as their primary node.

» The software's icon has a transparent background now instead of the gray block.

» Fixed instance preview updating problem when renaming a BRUSH-scatter object.

Rendered out my first little video with Octane. It's only 10 seconds, but I used Phantom Scatter everywhere.

Windows 10 doesn't work with Phantom Scatter. I can't install DirectX9c on Win X. Is there some sort of workaround possible?

Really nice Phantom. Scatter has really come a long way. Now whip up the hedge maze from The Shining. ;)
