as a creative using macs since the mid 90ies, this whole situation is incredibly frustrating...
We’ll have a lot to talk about once it’s out. We have 50 people in the closed beta and it’s been a hugely positive experience. I hope that holds true for everyone here. Anyone with a Mac Pro should be set. It’s a beast.
The free year version is going to be available shortly after the launch for current subs. It just takes a bit more time to set up since it’s a new license type tied to new Macs.

Yeah, I really hope everything works out and the people have also given a lot of feedback. Also that you will give out more information.
I always find the interviews very exciting with Jules on Mograph. Even if he always talks too fast and sometimes seems confused because his thoughts jump so fast that he can't keep up with the words
As an outsider, the current situation is not easy. Apple turned away from Nvidia and now from AMD. And you have to trust that the performance of future devices will not drop too much. Or that the Mac Pro won't get any more graphics updates soon.

Thanks for providing this, but I must have lost my secret decoder ring in the mail.
What exactly happens on July 17th?
See just because apple will be using their own Metal Based GPUS on machines. doesn't PRECLUDE AMD or Nvidia from doing drivers for METAL .. metal is a platform like Directx is for windows. - so.. i read apples graphics as not so much EXCLUDING nvida/amd as them saying here is our default. here is what were putting in our SOC. Ie each laptop will at the very least have an apple gpu. Then external ones will be dedicated like they are now. i see no reason for them to "BLOCK" them. They did just put out an SDK for graphics companies to move to METAL. SO i see that as what is GOING to happen and I think all this worry about ohh no they are dropping AMD Now too? is overblown. NOw.. what IS interesting is... what IF apple comes up with Better GPUs than AMD / Nvidia! or maybe add in render cards like what the "Afterburner card" JUST for 3d rendering????? hmmmm that could be quite interesting to put a few of those in ... ! - In any case.. AMD i think is here to stay on the Rendering front and Metal support is there.
I don't see that changing.

I should clarify - was specifically referring to the Vega II Pro Duo.mitchino wrote:“It’s a beast. Anyone.with a Mac Pro should be set.”
Even a stock Mac Pro with a 580x?

What about the AMD Radeon Pro W5700X 16 GB?
