It takes me 5 minutes to go thrugh the list manually, so it's not really a huge issue, just a nice little time saver. I haven't experimented with OOC, isn't it terribly slow once you enable it and start using system memory?
No measurable performance difference. I have it set to use up to 6GB of ram, and sometimes it chooses to use a small amount even when it's not needed for some reason. But it is not a noticeable change in performance, rendering or systemwise. Assuming you have spare ram.

That's pretty amazing actually, I thought it would be a huge drop in performance as soon as Octane dipped its toes in system RAM :)

Suggestion for material conversion problem:
Convert to a simple glossy material, but be sure to capture ALL of the textures. Include a bunch of templated materials - skin, eyes, fabric, leather and such with the release. Then people can just drag and drop them on the simple, autogenerated mats or use their own.

Since not all OcDS users frequently visit the general area of the forum I add this here:

If you are interested in combining photography with CG elements a great addon tool for OctaneRender has been released:

Phantom Photo Match

http://photomatch.phantomtechnology.nl/

This looks like it could work great in combination with DAZ3D content.

Currently there is support for the standalone and a selection of plugins.

The tool is from the same team that produces the instancing scattering tool Phantom Scatter.

ISSUES:
(7) Export of Male Gens Hip Textures from plugin to full Octane not working.

I can confirm this, also for Genesis 2 F.
Works fine with Genesis 3 F for some weird reason.

I am not having issues with G2F myself. Maybe it's certain UV's or something?

I have noticed certain skins have a tendency to apply the wrong uvs to gens for females. A lot of V4 (actual and uv based) materials tend to default gens to S6, for example (which makes absolutely no sense to me, but hey). It happens on the Daz side as well, even on an install without the OcDS plugin, so I don't think it's a plugin issue.

i used to have the Genital map issue all the time, but not since the last update. I would make sure the Geo-graft feature is disabled. Turned out mapping them internally was what was causing the issues.

well at least some of the time :)

I found a workaround for the autocoversion of materials. I accidently stumbled on this, forgive me if it's obvious and everybody knows it, it just works pefectly for my workflow, and I haven't seen it mentioned.

You can drag a templated material directly onto a missing material, and it will pick up the maps from the DAZ material. I somehow assumed that you'd only get the maps from the created DAZ material, but this works perfectly.

So if you miss the old simple, autoconverted material, simply create a diffuse templated material and drop that onto everything :)

is it possible to request adding the functionality that the poser version has for the HDR Lightmap Plugin. This would make wonders and really stand tall above the Iray Plugin which has numerous packs out just for lighting. This would make the program so much better. Its getting really tiresome having to go back to poser and back to daz for the new generation 3 content and not having a specific lighting system available. I really wish the addon to make HDR Lightmap work in Daz Studio 4.8+. Please pass the note along and let me know if there is any possibility for this in any new versions for the OcDS version. Thank you
