Any news on this? Was hoping the 10.15.3 update would bring us closer ...

I'm also very eager to hear additional details about this! Waiting to purchase hardware depending on the performance of Octane on AMD hardware running in MacOS. It would be amazing to build scenes on a Mac Pro, then send larger renders to the Nvidia render boxes.

I'm tired of still being on High Sierra so I can Render on a Mac Pro.

Hi,
I'm also still waiting. And once a day or so I'm having a look into this thread here only to hope, if there are some news for Octane X.
I'm still on Sierra and a Mac Pro 5,1 and as soon as Octane X is available, I immediately will buy a new iMac with eGPUs.

Don’t quote me in this but I think the drivers we need will be in 10.15.5. If the beta version of that OS works with Octane X we will release an XB1 for that ASAP, and not wait for the os to go final.

15.3 just came out the other day 15.1 came out in early October. So based on previous release schedules we won’t see Octane X till late May, early June.... We’ll that’s depressing.

Are you serious??? I think it's time for Otoy to explain the real situation without making fun of people only with promises!

From what I've read, it appears that OctaneX is almost ready but Apple still needs to add functionality to Metal. This might explain why we've also seen nothing about Redshift for AMD. I can only assume that 10.15.5 is pencilled in for a Metal update and/or new GPU drivers. I'm sure engineers are beavering away, but it does feel like Apple isn't in any mad rush for this tech.

luckily, octane works fine in high sierra with my two 1070ies.
I still really hope that we get an update soon so I can upgrade my system.

Just saw the headline on Macrumors that 10.15.4 was released in beta. So maybe 10.15.5 won't be far behind so we can get our hands on Octane for macs!
