Sorry to ask this i know its kinda stupid, but i have to ask if there is a possible ETA for R20? I have a project that is meant for R20 and only thing that is holding me back is network rendering in there and stable octane. If any info or estimate availiable, will be greatly appreciated. ty

SSS means Sub Surface Scattering. Without a closed mesh there is no sub surface, just surfaces.thanulee wrote:Thanks alot! So i have to have always closed meshes and even if they intersect is all good?

Not quite true that u need a complete close mesh for proper sss.zoppo wrote:SSS means Sub Surface Scattering. Without a closed mesh there is no sub surface, just surfaces.thanulee wrote:Thanks alot! So i have to have always closed meshes and even if they intersect is all good?
Hi thanulee,
it depends, for liquid/foggy objects it is not always necessary to close the mesh, but it is better to have closed meshes with solid dense objects that interact with eachother, like yours.

From the manual:
Also, make sure your object is closed or thick when using Mediums. In single sided objects, mediums will not work.
