#3 node material (convert) does not work

for me this is ok :)
Also c4d pro-render does not work correct with the new node materials, but for octane it is a different behavior than the simple material.
it's on the maxon site that prorender doesn't support node based material

read my entry again, the full entry ;) and realize that it is about the different behavior of the octane-converter for simple and node based materials.

btw: Is that the standard here in the forum?

The converter probably needs some updating since the new node base materials are actually completely different structure then the standard materials. thats just my guess

Go to C:\Program Files\MAXON\Cinema 4D R20

there is a folder called sdk.zip, extract it. You will find a plugin folder, paste the octane folder there (with all its content)
Or you can simply create a "plugins" directory as it existed in previous version. Or you can use the plugins folder in your prefs folder.

I am not getting Octane to show up at all in my R20 build. I unzipped the sdk package, and then I placed the C4DOctane folder in that directory. Clearly I am missing something. I have tried both download packages, and I have also tried the 3.08 and v4 builds. Nothing. Any advice?

I will try the prefs directory idea. Moving the directory in the app location failed :(

Thanks!
