Hey guys! I know the new version was just released. But I ran into this issue the other day trying to kick off a network render with 2.11.1 - 5.4 and wanted to let you know about it.

I don't really have any reproduction steps. It just seems that every time I start the Octane Daemon I get the following error repeating on my slave machines :

Master daemon message has invalid version (7).
failed to decode beacon message from master 10.1.10.15.#####

And the graphics cards associated with those machines don't show up in the network render options for the Master
Maya 2015 SP5

This was only happening with 2.11.1 - 5.4 we rolled back to 2.06 and everything worked perfectly. Haven't had a chance to test 5.5 yet but if there is a similar issue I will post there.

Oh yea. Uninstalled and reinstalled it several times before reverting to 2.06.

Similar here:

The 2.12.1 Standalone version picks up the networked cards, but the latest Maya plugin say invalid version.

Is this the same for 2.12.1?
As in, this only works with up to 2.06?

If so, is there an easy way to work out which versions work together, for when future versions get released.

edit: sorry, dumb question, it's in the version number.
