Right, crashes after entering logon details. It gets slightly further if I deactivate CUDA in NVidia panel (but kicks you out because of no CUDA).
Tried both 32 and 64 bit versions, both have an instant crash. Latest general drivers (non beta) and CUDA.
So...thought I would try it on my laptop; win xp 32bit quadro 770 m . Cannot enter user details, need to release license from the other machine first.
This is a giant gotcha!!! Chicken and egg problem.
Cannot release license because program wont even start. Maybe Octane needs a safe mode or something so you can release a license without the program needing access to CUDA, etc.

Thank you very much for the release Octane Team. I am sure it has been the reason for some sleepless nights and for your efforts I am much thankful.
I just tested the Octane test scene (the coridor with Greeble modifier applied to it) and as it appears I am scoring 1.09 Megasamples/sec with the new 2.3 beta as opposed to 1.28Megasamples/sek with the old 2.2 release.
Can anybody else confirm this?
Cheers.

Dont know if this is a bug but
the light source projection depends on the point of view the camera is ??????.
If that made any sense, where ever i look at the light source point is at.
Isent the light source suppose to lock on to a point?

It's because you use a glossy material, try it again with a diffuse material.radiant wrote:Dont know if this is a bug but

Hi there,
Emitters are so very welcome, thank you! I´m sure that a lot of good interior renders will come up with this feature. The data basis ideia, will rock!!!
About bugs... the fire flies took over and I think you already know that (I´ll wait for MLT, no worries)
That is a black line appearing on the botton. It appears colorful sometimes too. I thought it was related to multi gpus but no, it is happening on single gpu mode as well. And the emitter material stop emitting light. To fix this I tried to change the resolution and the kernel, and it worked. By the way, the emitter settings are the same on the first 2 shots. My machine is windows xp 64, i7 930, 12Gb and 2x GTX 470.
Thanks!

Yep, I lost 0.3 Megasamples/sek using the benchmark scene.
