I am missing Rhino in the announcement of future integrated plugins.
You can get all HQ renderers for rhino, but there is no Octane for Rhino planned to be released in the near future.
I would like to know why?
Rhino - Octane is the perfect match since more and more interior designers use Rhino...

Thanx matej and Roubal.. I usually only used bumps in the past, but for the current project we created normals just to find out they behaved wrong, going in instead of out..
And the use for this would be? Nothing I guess.. Please correct this so it behaves like bump, otherwise its pretty useless.. I always liked sliders that went from -1 -> 1 for these types instead of having a invert button.. But whatever, works fine.matej wrote:The invert on texture nodes inverts the color (the same if you did invert color in photoshop) - you cant invert normal maps this way, only bumps!

@PeterCGS, the "invert" option is only usable for BW "intensity textures", ie. masks, alpha transparency, bump... Not for RGB textures. In the case of normals this is confusing yes and should be removed or made into a proper invert, which requires quite different calculations. For now you'll have to invert normalmaps in whatever program you created them...

@PeterCGS : I also like sliders from -1 to +1. I asked for this feature for negative scaling in placement nodes, in order to allow mirrored meshes (symmetrical buildings for example, when using instances).

I am really eager for that thing !

The normal map input only supports using an RGB image directly, you can't use the other nodes like mix textures, invert textures etc.
The invert option on the RGB image nodes doesn't work either at the moment. This is a bug, we will fix it by the next release.

It would be useful if normal maps could be mixed and the result used on the nmap material input, cause sometimes you need to mix bump data. Because this doesn't work it's sometimes required to duplicate the setup & mix whole materials, just to mix different bump from two normal maps.
Inputing a normal map through a texture input pin also didn't work last time I checked.

Hi,
I was wondering what other formats are supported in the v1.00 release? i remember back in the day it was RIB format, then it switched to Collada? or has the extra formats been scrapped all together?

I'm surprised there isn't a Rhino plugin actually. This would be quite a good renderer for it.

hope you can response me
