Please update your graphics driver, that solves the problem.suvakas wrote:I ran into a strange texture bug.
Weird stripes appeared on top of my texture. It's with glossy material. It looks a bit like normals issue, but turning smoothing on/off won't do anything
The uper image is made with previous version of the plugin and lower is with this new release. I made a new material from scratch and even then those stripes didn't go away.
[edit]
Those stripes are borders where the texture tiles/repeats. Those do not appear in prev. version and it also works with other renderers. So it's a bug!
It also shows up in material preview if I scale/tile a bitmap texture. With other texture maps too.

It is modified PMC. We will try to return interactivity.gabrielefx wrote:this version is not ok for me
the render starts darker, then after 10 seconds (in my scene) the plugin seems to apply the tonemapping
after the 54th pass Octane starts to calibrate the colors
Bye bye realtime feedback, have I to wait 10 seconds?
It should have the same saturation.gabrielefx wrote: the render is more saturated than the 3.01
Did you check actuall samples/sec?gabrielefx wrote: the speed is slight slower than the 3.01
It should be faster
It affects only high saturated overbrighted areas.gabrielefx wrote: saturation to white has no effect.
It is because of new glossy model. it doesn't have any energy losses. Try to decrease reflection values. Anyway we will try to reduce noise level too.gabrielefx wrote: for me now I see too much fireflies using the pmc. Before when I set a value of 0.25 (hot pixel remove) all rare fireflies disappeared, now they don't.
Problem isgabrielefx wrote: thumbs up for the ies up vector. Please Karba, make it stretchable.
I would like to know why disabling movable proxy for lights they are rotated of 180 degrees....
In older version default IES light orientation was wrong. It emmits up. So you have to rotate it by 180.
If you switch off moveable proxy, octane can't use object orientation, and direct it down.
Now I have fixed it, so default orientation is correct, it emmits down.
Thanx Karba...Maybe I didn't notice cos I never used color and temperature side by side til today, anyways I thought it was strange, but if this is the normal behaviour it's ok.Karba wrote:It was always like this.ttaberna wrote:Hi
I also noticed something strange with the lights today...
Here is a test 2 ies lights completely same settings except 1 is set temperature 6500 (left) and the other one is set to color 255,255,255 (right).
But even if the intensity of the light is the same the result is quite diferent
Maybe it's been dicused before...
Even in older standalone versions.

I noticed a wrong ies distribution using Octane ies lights. Ies light distribution is clamped on the top (no matter what is the power)
I never used Octane ies lights but only my method.
In fact no problem using circles with diffuse mat+blackbody+ies texture
I don't think it's a 3.02 problem.
See the example below.
I see some of this ies are not simmetrical, may be this eis lights wall by different side.
in ies viewer if you load a symmetrical ies file you read "axially symmetric" (see near the disc icon). If you load an asymmetric ies you see a slider to rotate the curve.

Can I have that ies file?gabrielefx wrote:Karba:Karba wrote:Is this ies simmetrical?gabrielefx wrote:Hi Karba

The procedure entry point cuTexRefSetAddress2D_v3 could not be loacted in the dynamic link library nvcuda.dll.
after this i get this error

Error code 127 - The specifid procedure could not be found.
Sorry I could now find the directory symbol so I just used the letter "W"

That's very likely because you didn't update your NVIDIA graphics driver. Please do that and try again.cgp wrote:after installing this version, i am getting the following message when I start 3ds max.
