Yeah that is really interesting!
In the screen shots all those icons on the renderview were greyed out.

I looked into it and it usually only seems to happen when I start, stop or pause renders from the octane shelf.

It also happens if i start a render from the render view menu IPR>IPR Render > Camera or if I refresh the render by pressing the IPR button instead of the green refresh button.


I couldn't stop the ipr so I closed the render view and got this error:

// Error: line 1: Object 'pauseIprButton' not found. //

Then it crashes.

I also can not use the IRP pause button in the render view sometime. In normal case, the buttons can be used. Sometimes it turns to be gray. But I can still use the Pause and Stop button in Octane render shelf to control the render. I am not sure if you are the same problem.
