But none are in use in the scenes that crash, and I already tried removing them from my plugins folder. Maybe that info helps?

Yes I realise that, I did try removing them all like I said.
An update on the problem, I don't think it is necessarily related to the render queue per se - more to do with the end of a render. I was just rendering a sequence to the picture viewer and working on a different scene file, when the picture viewer finished its last frame C4D crashed.
The good thing about Octane crashes are they always very quick and clean and always produce 'bug report' scene files so I never actually lose any work! Other types of crash often leave C4D hanging and require a force quit.
I have since put my plugins back by the way - I am working so need to use C4D as usual. When I have time i will try and test some more.
Where are these DLL files supposed ot be (if I have any), just in the MAXON root folder along with the C4D app, exchange, help, library, modules, plugins etc?
