Thanks. Yes sure, it's far away from stability. I just released for only preview reason. It will be nice to hear some ideas or comments about it.mate wrote:Nice update. Node editor is very unstable, keeps crashing every other minute even with very simple setups.

i just want to report that i m working on 0.79 these days and had serveral crashes.
stablilty is not so great, yet. (this is not related to node inspector posts above)
i also want to add that some things behave really strange....
i have for example a texture tag w cubic projection that shows correctly in the viewport
but on rendering in octane the projection is rotated 90 degrees.
and as reported before i have a hierarchy of materialized objects grouped
if i put all this into a symmetry object octane looses all materials (all is white)
if i switch off symmetry it renders the materials ok again.
great work and all,
but it would be nice to have the basics working before developing stuff like the node editor

info for other users with symmetry problems:
the only way to use symmetry is to make an instance,
chance the scale to -1 on the needed axis. and tick render instance (needed!)

it's suprising me about stability, propably some plugin conflict.indexofrefraction wrote:i just want to report that i m working on 0.79 these days and had serveral crashes.

I'm checking symetry problem. have you some other plugins? Can you post me a list?

Hi,
0.79B is a test release rather than stabile release. But has much important some new features. As floating color, faster updates, some critical fixes.
I'm going to do some little fixes as for that reports is coming from users. And more usable version will be there for folk.
Best,
Ahmet Oktar

I saw the screencast of the latest beta, and I wonder why not to use the well known interface of the Xpresso.aoktar wrote:Silverwing: thanks for comments. Also requests. I'll take note for that and check for bugs. Be sure i'm going to stop to develop for better a plugin. I'm agree on most of wishes except importance sampling. Node graph editor is most biggest feature which is development, but takes lot of time.
Ello: plugin needs a seperate license except standalone license.
I think Wpresso editor covers all needs of the the Octane node editor.
But I'am only designer

Hey, couple of things from me for .79
Geometry update is really nice now, great work.
Iinitially thought some of my older materials got corrupt, but infact I had disabled the opacity channel (I turn off channels I am not using). In this version the channel must be enabled and set to 100. Not a problem, just good to know for others maybe. Before if the channel was switched of the opacity was default set to 100, now it's 0.
The function 'delete unused materials' deletes all materials even if they are assigned. I thought his worked fine in the last version but can't be sure.
The render queue is still crashing a lot after completing the first job ( usually second, sometimes third job)
Cheers Matt

yes, very old materials seem broken. Need checking some use checkes to correct. I'm going to try fix, if it's possible.mattfrodsham wrote:Hey, couple of things from me for .79

there is a mistake for 'delete unused materials'. I'm going to fix recent update.
render queue is never crashing for me. I think there is plugin conflict. Need to know your extra plugin list.

Let me clean my plugin folder up and do some tests later today, I'll let you know if I find out what causes it or if it continues after removing everything
