would also be interesting to know what settings you are using for the geo-graft. as there is that checkbox we have now, not sure if it is part of the equation or not.

Anyone using network rendering feature with the latest Beta?
My master and slave nodes can see each other, I can restart and suspend the slave using the buttons in the DAZ Plugin network tab, I can see the temperature of the slave's GPU... Yet I'm not able to make the slave to actually help rendering...
Installed both the plugin and the network slave from the plugin installation package. Both systems are running same driver version for the GPUs.
Firewalls on both machines are disabled.
Any ideas?
EDIT:
Tried it with standalone and there all works just fine. So it looks like a bug in the OcDS 2.2

TRRazor: I'm exported in Octane format. I assumed that was the only way to get everything, like lighting, etc.
larsmidnatt: I haven't tweaked any parameters... lemme check.
I enabled, "Try to map geograft replacement materials internally", and that ruined the plugin render, as well as the export render.
So. Do not tick.

TRRazor, I don't know how you do an OBJ export or anything else from inside the Octane plug in. The plug in only supports OCS, and ORBX.
I'd never consider trying to material work in anything but the plugin. There's too much that you might want to change, and its a b**ch if you have to reimport changes isn't it?

Most figures (especially G2F and G2M) usually come with an extra genitalia map which you need to apply, before you can move everything into the Octane plug-in,
Try the following (in this specific order):
1.) Load figure / character
2.) Apply complete body MAT
3.) Load genitalia figure
4.) Apply genitalia MAT (only if available, if not, re-apply the complete body map)
5.) Open the Octane render viewport.
6.) (If applicable) Apply shaders inside Octane
Exporting as .obj and .dae only helps if you'd like to render everything inside standalone (this will copy over the maps as well, if you select it in the corresponding export dialog).
It will however export the complete figure with all dependend maps.

Hi birdovous,
I have successfully started a net render section with DAZ: the only thing that I have done was to change the slave demon setting accordingly with what displayed from the DAZ master: Anyway, your setting seems ok
what does the slave's log says?
ciao beppe

Why do I always have to have the broken one?bepeg4d wrote:what does the slave's log says?

That is the odd thing as all seems fine there:
Code: Select all
13.07.2015 17:21:35.562 Running daemon: "C:\OcDS network Client\octane_slave_daemon.exe" --port 48008 --slave "C:\OcDS network Client\octane_slave.exe" --alias "RenderBox"
13.07.2015 17:21:36.586 Daemon sucessfully started...
13.07.2015 17:21:50.462 Connected to OcDS host: 192.168.13.2
With standalone, the network render feature works just fine - even with the ability to set the Out of Core memory for the slave, which seems to be missing in the OcDS.

I got worried if the next plugin update will take longer.
I wrote t_3 a pm to ask what the plan is.
t_3 got several other requests for a quick fix to how the autoconversion works.
The unwanted interaction with the DS UI are also a priority.
The plan seems to be to release an update for those most pressing issues at the beginning of July.
Mother do you think they'll update the plug?
Mother do you think they'll repair the bugs?
Mother will they fix the auto-convert?
Mother will OcDS always hurt?
Mother, did the wait for OR3 need to be so high?

hi birdovous,
just a couple of ideas:
1. what happen if you change the TCP/UDP port and correct the demon parameter on the slave accordingly?
2. could you turn the slave to be the master and vice versa?
3. what about the firewall?
ciao beppe
